I feel like I really havn't gotten anywhere with my quest for the holy grail of house cleanliness. However, when I think objectively, there are areas that have been organized...
THE RECYCLING AREA: This area is a constant battle with me. Firstly, because it's always overflowing. I recycle Paper..all of it, including the labels soaked off the various tin cans we use; Cardboard; tin cans; glass jars; milk jugs; plastics and packaging of every kind. All of these items need to be clean, and free from food contaminants, so I always seem to have misc. plastic piled in with my dishes. Honestly, when analyzing my borderline-obsessive need to recycle, I came to realize it was, what I'm going to call "Consumer Guilt".
That best describes my feeling of responsibility for all the "garbage" coming into my home...unfortunately, mostly purchased by myself with the weekly groceries. Today I had a chat with a friend of mine who agreed, we are forced to consume whether we like it or not if we are to eat in today's society. Is it true? I think some responsibility needs to soon be shared by the multitude of companies who are profiting from packaging everything in barely recyclable garbage.
I've tried to purchase our food with less packaging. I never take the flimsy "produce" bags from the rolls, I just put my fruit in the cloth shopping bag I've brought with me. Fortunately, in my locale, the cashier doesn't mind that I hand her fruit etc to weigh without bags at the till.
Anyway, my first comment is that, I have reorganized my recycling area to hopefully better suit my needs.
Secondly, the livingroom which is currently "cardboard box central" because of our impending move, had been cleared of I'd say 1/4 of the debris of packing.
Also, I continue to make lunches, meals, attend what I need to, etc. I'm feeling a little better having talked about it here, so thanks.
It's after midnight, and I was up before 5 a.m. this morning because my D.H. had to be on the road by 6 a.m.
I really should bake bread for lunch tomorrow...would have been nice to get a few more dishes done too.
But...I think I'm just going to bed..I'll let you know how it went.

Organized or Bust
A blog where I can, with the internet and God as my witnesses, become somewhat accountable to "Get Organized". A mysterious nirvana that has consistently eluded me.
Welcome to my blog...
Want to see how a chronically disorganized Grandma searches for that illusive state of "Comfortable Order".

Out and About
Hmmm, to recap: I didn't really work on Bridal Shower, but I did buy the thankyou cards for guest to write their name and return address onto.
Did go to Bible Study...was awesome, really getting into some neat stuff. It's a video study over the summer. It's giving us a keyhole peek into heaven..and hell.
I ended up doing 3 kms on the treadmill. I did two fairly easily this morning, then added one more while waiting for the clothes in the dryer to warm up...aren't they so much nicer to fold then.

Did go to the reflexology appointment...it was great, my feet felt so good I went shopping. I might have over done it.
Of course I did get Matt's lunch done, some sliced beef and cheese sandwiches.
I get a pass mark on Dress, Hair and Makeup, but just barely. I didn't shower until just before my reflex. appt. and then I forgot to reapply mascara..Yikes!!

As far as the rest of my day, I made supper for Dear Husband who just got back from a haul to Alberta.
Tomorrow is similar, but with a focus on staying home, and baking bread, and prepping for shower
And if I have the ambition to work on this crazy spice/supplies shelf over my stove.

It wasn't a bad beginning!
Alright, it may be 12:20a.m. before I sat down again, but I'm pleased with my evening. I did make a nice supper for all of us. It turned out delicious! Simple Alfredo Sauce:
1. Melt margarine, butter, lard or pour about 3 Tbsp of oil in deep frying pan.
2. Add enough flour to make a thick paste with no oil left to be absorbed,
3. Add about a 1/2 c. potato water, plain water, milk, or juice from canned seafood. Mix well into smooth cream.
4. Now..place onto burner on med-low. Add only milk from here on, unless you have extra seafood juice.
5. Season heavily with Garlic Salt, add at least 2 Tbsp. Parmesan Cheese. Keep stirring as it thickens, pay special attention to sides and bottom. Taste frequently, adding Garlic Salt or Parmesan as you see fit. 6. Lastly, add Shrimp, or crab meat, or canned seafood mix. (anything pre-cooked). Heat to finish.
Serve generously over hot, cooked pasta.
I did work on the table. Admittedly, I still have a pile of papers to file and sort through, it looks better.
As well, I did do up dishes, but didn't realize how many there were... I left a few pots still soaking until tomorrow. But did clean up stove after pasta and sauce making.
Well, that's my evening. My primary goal for tomorrow is...to work on Bridal Shower stuff for Saturday. Also, there is Ladies' Bible Study to attend and my Reflexologist appointment, in addition to making Matt's breakfast, and his bagged lunch. It would also be nice to work, say an hour on the kitchen table, and to do the dishes I dirty in the morning as well as the leftovers from today before leaving for Bible Study. We'll see how that goes. Plus, "Dress, Hair, and MakeUp" first thing, and try to do 2 kms at least on treadmill.
Plan for this evening
Ok, my immediate plan is to make Shrimp Alfredo for my step-son Matt and his girlfriend Megan who is craving shrimp.
This should inspire me to find the kitchen table so we can eat on it together.
I would like to do up the dishes as I go..including those left from lunch with husband Carmen, and the popcorn I made from a mid-afternoon snack.
See you after we've eaten, maybe even after I've done all the dishes...Oh My.
